You Only Live Well Once, Make sure to Leave it Well at Aeternum

You guys know that my dad is in heaven now right?

The day he passed was the most heart breaking day of my life. I remember crying my eyes out that even if there are no more tears coming out I still cried, that is how much I love him.

Papa - as I call him, is the first guy in my life that taught me so many things, from household chores to even fixing televisions and air conditioning units! That his passing away never really came to mind.

And when the day that we have to put him to his resting place I cringed at the thought of leaving him in a vault - a cold square-like box and just visit him from time to time. My father is the life of the party and the man that can make me laugh with his weird antics so leaving him in a box that seems really cold isn't fit for him.

But thankfully my sister gave him a special place to rest that doesn't even look like a columbary - in Aeternum.

Aeternum is the First true garden columbary in the Philippines. Located at Fort Bonifacio, this 5 hectare land of The Fort Park Estates Inc. is more than your ordinary resting place for your departed loved ones.

Its actually like a heaven for the departed and the living.

The name itself means Eternity in Latin, which also symbolizes the everlasting love we have for our departed even after they left.

Its complete with a wide space to hold picnics that me and some bloggers were able to experience last Saturday.

We were given a tour of the whole place - which to be honest, I don't need because I have been visiting this place almost every 2 weeks if possible so I kinda know the place even with my eyes closed.

Aeternum has a chapel that can serve as the viewing area before cremation of your loved ones. They also have a family room that families can borrow on occasions like Anniversaries or celebrating the birthday of their beloved.

One thing I love about Aeternum is that you won't feel that you are in a columbary.

The Columbary is a two-story structure that has a unique architectural design that resembles a flower. I like the design because its really wide and airy that if you are there you won't have that heavy feeling that someone left you.

One of the things that Aeternum boasts is the security and privacy you will have here if you want a solemn occasion with your beloved one even if it is beside C5 road.

As per experience, Aeternum is really a great place for the whole family because it is very kid-friendly.

When my papa passed away and we brought him here, I remember my niece was about 2 years old at the time and when we brought her there she didn't feel scared because the place is really peaceful that it wouldn't shock a kid that this is the resting place of her beloved Lolo.

Up until this day if possible I bring my niece and nephew with me to visit their lolo Manny (as they call him). My niece in particular is very close to him because he usually takes care of her when my brother asks us to take care of this munchkin.

Apart from the columbary, there is a wide space within the vicinity that is great for kids to run around and a pond that is great to take picture with.

If you are looking for a good resting place for your loved ones in the future I would suggest Aeternum.

For more information on how to avail a vault at Aeternum, you can visit their office the Aeternum Garden Columbary at C5 Corner Bayani Road Heritage Park Area 2, Taguig City.

Its a Hurray for ATAT Racing Team!

Even with the drizzle last Friday didn't stop me and the rest of ATAT Racing Team celebrating their achievements from the Philippine Super Bike Championship.

Set at McKinley Information Center at Mckinley hill in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, guests and bike riders alike mingled and enjoyed the festivities with food, drinks and of course a lot of ATAT.

As ATAT has dominated this year's Philippine Superbikes Championship winners it is really fit that there is a celebration in hand with how hard they worked in achieving their goals.

The event started with a press conference in which some members or ATAT Racing Team headlined and some members of the media and bloggers asked questions about the team and also about their achievements.

After the short press conference, there is a raffle draw for everyone that attended in which there were prizes from Manny O Wines, Motor Bike accessories and even a trip to Boracay!

After which were the recognition of the achievement of the members who won in the Philippine SuperBikes Championships.

And here are the winners:
Lawrence Macalinao - Pirelli Cup Open Division 1st Runner up (Overall) and Ducati Cup Novice 1st Runner up.
Jay Carreon, Ducati Cup Champion Intermediate Division
Jevis Aguila - Pirelli Cup Open Division Champion
Myke Torres - Pirelli Cup Class B Champion
Vince Mercado - Ducati Cup Open Division Runner Up
JC VIllanueva - Pirelli Cup Class A Runner Up
Richard Panlilio - Ducati Cup Intermediate 2nd Runner Up.

The whole event was super fun because of the raffles and of course the people I was with.

There were also guest from other teams that competed during the Philippine SuperBikes Championship that attended the event because even though they are competitors they share the same passion which is riding.

I really enjoyed the event and I wish more success to ATAT Racing Team. I hope next year everyone is a champion at the Philippine SuperBikes Championship!

Thank you so much for inviting me ATAT Racing Team! I really had fun and hope to see more of you guys soon!

Much Love!

Get Stronger For Longer with Enervon Prime

Me and my mom always bicker about her aging and the activities she likes; and the usual conversation goes like this:

Me: Paano ka naman makikisabay saken when your getting old  so fast! (how can you catch up with me if you are growing old so fast!)
Mom: Malamang! Pag ako hindi tumanda hindi ka din tatanda! (Of course! If I don't age so do you.)

And this left me struggling for a comeback which never really surfaces because she does have a point.

7 Things To Know About Sunscreen Protection

Part of the skin care routine most girls - including yours truly sometimes overlook is the need for sunscreen. Most don't even know what it is! I remember my only knowledge of it is to apply sunscreen when you are going outside for a long time. But thankfully with the new findings and information being shared on social media its much easier now to choose which sunscreen is really fit for you.

So here are the 7 things you need to know about sunscreen.

1.    Sunscreen is not only intended for summer or at the beach. Dermatologists recommend the daily use of sunscreen.

This is a common myth - use only sunblock or sun screen ONLY when it is summer or going to the beach. It is actually noted by doctors worldwide that recommended daily use of sunscreen will actually help lessen the effects of early aging of the skin.

2.    UV filters in make-up are not enough for daily protection.

Most make up like BB Creams, Foundations and powders have sunscreen. But normally it would only protect the skin against only one type exposure which is from UV radiation only so its still best to have a great sunscreen prior to applying make up to protect the skin.

3.    It is known that there are 2 kinds of UV radiation from the sun that affect your skin:

There is the UVB and the UVA. UVB, which mainly affects the outer layers of the skin and known to be the main cause of sunburns; and UVA radiation is the one that penetrates deeper into the skin with long-term and oxidative damaging effects such as DNA damage, premature aging and higher risks of skin cancer. However, did you know that besides UV radiation, the sun also produces Infrared (IR) radiation that triggers collagen degradation which leads to wrinkles and sagging of the skin.

4.    Generally, SPF labels mainly measure UVB protection only.

Users of regular sunscreen products that only offer SPF may not necessarily burn their skin when exposed under the sun, but may still get deeper skin damage that cause a higher risk of skin cancers if their sun care product does not have UVA-filtering properties.

5.    Get to know more about your SPF numbers.

No sunscreen product can guarantee 100% protection against harmful radiation. Based on regulatory bodies in Europe and Australia, an SPF of 30 already absorbs 96.7% of UVB rays, and an SPF of 50 absorbs as much as 98.0% of UVB rays. If you’re planning to go for a sunscreen with an SPF level of 70, 80, 90 or beyond – no need! The additional effects of higher SPF at this level are almost negligible. So as much as possible the highest you can get is SPF 50.

6.    A new study made by the American Academy of Dermatologyreveals the use of broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 for everyday use.

Solar radiation, which permeates the skin all the way down to the cells and DNA, resultsin cell damage,DNA mutations, premature skin aging, and eventually may lead to skin cancer. So make sure to get at least spf 30 when heading out.

7.    For women who wear makeup every day, try this regimen.

Start off your face with a moisturizer, and then thoroughly apply a clinically proven, non-comedogenic sunscreen before you continue with your make-up routine. This preventive sun care step should be done every day before you go out of the house.

From the makers of Cetaphil, Daylong sunscreen takes a more scientific approach to sunscreen protection that not just protects the skin from UVA and UVB but also infraref radiation. Made for daily wear, minus the sticky and heavy feeling. It also gets absorbs the skin faster without the white cast thanks to its unique oil free liposomal formulation. It is dermatologist-prescribed and clinically proven to help protect the skin against premature cell damage, cellular aging, skin and tissue aging.

Make sure grab Daylong! Daylong sunscreen is available in Watson’s and SM Department Store branches with Watson’s starting September 2014, and in Mercury Drug branches starting October 2014. For more information, visit Daylong.ph, likeDaylongPH on Facebook and follow @DaylongPH on Twitter and Instagram.

Zen Institute Introduces Weight Management Programs for a Health-conscious people

Zen Institute is one of the institutes that really make their patrons beautiful and healthy with their myriads of weight managements programs.

Recently, they introduced a new way of reducing the fats but still in a healthy way that I was able to try a bit. One of the innovations that its owner, founder and head doctor Dr. Mary Jane "MJ" Torres introduced is a more holistic approach.

And this includes a carefully monitored but non-invasive treatments that is also supported by nutritional counselling, workout regiment, colon cleansing and intravenous (IV) micronutrition.
The first step is the Colon Hydrotherapy or also known as Colonics. It is a procedure to help cleanse the colon without a surgical approach in cleaning out the toxins in our system. This said therapy lasts about an hour in which about 25 liters of water is inserted to the body.

I have done a similar procedure before and its actually great to do if you don't eat much vegetables and often drink alcohol. This is also ideal to those that have regular unhealthy food into the system. Colonics actually is a healthier way to encourage the growth of good bacterias in the body so ideally this is supposed to be done about 4 times a year.

Then we go to the IV Micronutrition which delivers micronutrients straight to our veins which is directly absorbed by the body to use.

My experience was really wicked in a way because the machine that was used breaks the fat via sound wave so you would be able to hear like long beeping sounds but after a while you would hear some buzzing sound that indicated the fats breaking down. It was really funny to hear my own fats break down and its really something new that everyone should try.

If you want more information about these make sure to check out Zen Institute.

Zen Institute is located at 69 Sct. Rallos St. Tomas Morato, Quezon City (441-1712/ 142-2528), Ground Flr. Bonifacio Technology Center (856-2027) and at the St. Frances Cabrini Medical Center, Maharlika Highway, Brgy. 2, Sto. Tomas Batangas (+43-778-4811)

Superbike Racing Team "ART" (ATAT Racing Team) This Sunday!

Superbike Racing is a known as a foreign sport that is actually a growing and thriving community nowadays to the adrenaline Pinoy junkies. With speeds racing up to 300kph on straights and corners with very sharp turns I am pretty sure adrenaline junkies will only treat it as a day in the park ride. Superbike Racing is where tuned versions of motorbikes available in the market are used to compete in race tracks. Usually these kinds of competitions are held in our top racing circuits in Batangas and Clark, Pampanga. Due to the sport as well teams have been formed to represent motorbike manufacturers such as Aprilla and Ducati. And this Sunday I will be able to see them all. Do you want to join me?

Anatomiya ng Korupsyon: A Satire about today's times.

I haven't done a movie review since... I can't remember but I'll be sharing to you guys this film I watched a couple of days ago.

Anatomiya ng Korupsyon (Anatomy of Corruption) is a 2011 film directed by Dennis Marasigan. It stars Sid Lucero, Ricky Davao and also Maricar Reyes. The film basically talks about the anatomy of corruption. Corruption is such a broad subject because it can be about corruption in terms of office politics and even the government.

Set during the 70's possibly during the Marcos era due to the fact there was a Marcos picture that was posted on the wall in the first sequence of the film. It is situated in a Family court setting.  We see Cely (Played by Maricar Reyes) who is an idealistic young lawyer that is a new hire to replace the previous one.

Armed with confidence, enthusiasm to help and a lots of morality unfortunately that was put to waste because of the corruption that riddled to their office. Cely refuses the fact that her colleagues has no shame in dealing with corruption from her immediate superior to even the judge!

Even though the film is heavily bombarded with all the things that most Pinoys try not to see, the film is also laced with satire to make you laugh and chuckle at least with the predicaments that the characters in the film go through. I can't help but laugh at some parts when the court stenographer Bok was not able to claim his 'take' during an arraignment.

Maricar Reyes' acting in the film is really believable. She held on to the character as if she is really Cely - filled with the morality that what she does is merely helping people without asking anything too much after it. I feel empathy with Reyes' character because she was ganged up and crushed by the same people who promised to do what is right.

Sid Lucero and Ricky Davao made their characters someone I was want to claw to death. They really played their roles well that even though its just a film you would feel like clawing your nails through their eyes because of the disgusting things their characters do - this is me and my anger problems sometimes but trust me I wouldn't hurt anyone if I'm not provoked.

Over all I think the movie is worth watching especially of the younger generations. There is one exception that I didn't really like - at the end. The ending was quite confusing with the black out then the footage of the NBN-ZTE hearings where Jun Lozada (if you still remember him ) played.

The whole film already spoke of the corruption we are going through. This is a very unfortunate instance that I think a lot of us still see on the news daily.

Corruption is a crime no matter who you are. And also its not just us that see your wrong doing but also someone above us.

I would recommend this film because it is really an eye opener to those that don't know what is happening.

If you have seen this movie make sure to drop a comment below.

Much Love!

xx Alice
