What Happened at Blogapalooza 2013

Last November 16 2013 I went to my first ever Blogapalooza 2013. One word I would describe to it?

AWESOME!

I never really thought that blogging and businesses can come hand in hand to be able to reach consumers - boy was I wrong. In a nutshell, event basically a collective gathering from both companies and bloggers to meet and share their products to bloggers to share on their blogs. This event is also a way for bloggers to present themselves are 'social media experts' to help these companies get noticed and also meet other bloggers!

Photoescape Reviews: Garnier BB Eye Roll On

As we are getting old, signs of it will show. Kind of harsh don't you think? especially if you are the type that likes to stay up late when you were younger *ahem*

my 19 year old self...sigh..

I am not getting younger, but I would prefer to look like I am still in my early twenties or maybe when I was in my teen! oh those were the days...those were the days... One clear sign of it is my under eye circles. When I was younger, I didn't really notice them, but nowadays I've been noticing that they are getting darker than usual.
me at 20...

Wish there was a product that can make my under eyes look like they were before right?? Well there is!

Garnier's BB eye roll on!

A Little Help for Yolanda Victims

Last Friday, November 8, 2013 The Visayas region and the Southern part of Luzon was hit with a Category 5 cyclone named Haiyan or Yolanda.

I live in Manila but I felt the strong winds of the cyclone here in Manila on my way home that Friday night, then a question came to my mind:

If the winds hitting Manila are strong it must be at least 4 times stronger in the areas affected right?

source: Philstar.com

Then the answer came to me, and it had hit me hard to the gut.  The devastation Yolanda left to the people of Samar, Leyte, Cebu, Tacloban and other provinces in the Visayas. I have relatives that lived in Samar, Leyte, and even Tacloban so I was quite concerned with them as well.

source: http://www.gmanetwork.com

As of this posting, I've heard that most of my relatives (In my mother's side) are safe, some of them have fled before the cyclone reached their area - but unfortunately they don't have homes to go back to because their homes have been deeply ravaged by the storm surge.

source: www.independent.co.uk

I've seen the news, of all the looting and also the trauma the people are experiencing in these areas and I can't help but cry because a lot of them have lost a lot - their homes, their sources of income and even family members.

This is why I am asking for your prayers and help.

I will be doing a sale on my Instagram account tonight.

All proceeds will be given to a charity (either the red cross or Sagip Kapamilya) that will be able to distribute them to the victims of Yolanda.

I will be selling my pre-loved make up, clothes and other items. I would really appreciate if my Manila-based readers would just meet up with me to save shipping fee costs and to also get to know you guys.

If you would also like to volunteer, you can also go here for the list of centers that are accepting volunteers and donations.

No matter how big or small your help can bring, it would all be worth it for our fellow kababayans in need in these times.

Much Love.

30 day Kpop Challenge Day 30!!

Hello ladies! Happy Wednesday!

Its a humpback Wednesday but I don't really feel awful about it...I don't know why though..

So this is the FINAL challenge of the 30 days Kpop challenge. If you have been following it, you would probably know how I miserably failed this challenge. I wasn't able to update it as much as I can since I have been doing a lot of things.

It really sucks. I know!

But still I am thankful for those that have supported me on this challenge. To think about it, I wouldn't have done it much without you guys! and to that this challenge is dedicated to YOU!

Now let's get on this challenge shall we?

DAY 30:

You're All-Time Favorite Kpop Song:

I have loved this song ever since I first heard it at Pop's In Seoul. wwwwaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy back then I was glued to the television since Arirang TV was the only Korean channel in our cable.

I love this song mainly for the message of it. Even if I haven't met you girls or some of you have 'left' me you are still here in my heart and you are my number one!

I am being melodramatic in saying this but even if you are a silent follower of my blogs, my beauty channel and my blogs I still feel your love and I am deeply grateful for that. I mainly started this blog not really thinking that I will have a following. It may be small but I feel the love my friend, I really do.

To all of you I just want to say THANK YOU and I LOVE YOU!!!

Thank you for supporting me and I hope you won't let go because I have lots of things in store for you!

Much Love!

30 days of Kpop challenge! Day 28

Hello! Sorry I'm doing a back to back. I forgot I was supposed to post day 28 first. ugh getting old ....

But I hope you ladies understand.

I feel a little weird today for some reason. I don't know why but I have this weird feeling something great is going to happen. eh.. not sure though..

Let's begin with today's challenge shall we?

Day 28:

A Song that has a Music Video you dance along with:

I mainly dance to this song purely because of the shuffling. I am not a good dancer but I am a good shuffler. I can shuffle with slippers, sneakers even with heels on! but you can never really stand me do dance.

I am well coordinated but when I dance, it just doesn't look good. I don't know why.

But whenever I dance to this song, I just feel good about it.

Parang nagbubunot lang ang peg LOL

I really like this song from T-ara and I think they make great dance tracks so this is one of my top picks.

That's it for today's challenge!

Make sure to check out tomorrow's final post for this challenge!

Much Love!

30 days Kpop Challenge! Day 29

Hey! How's your Tuesday so far?

Mine? eehhhh... can't really decide if its a good one or a bad one. Good since most of my students are nice today bad because..I have students that I want to smash into little fragments - I have violent tendencies when I am pushed to my limit. Luckily I am still able to keep my cool

And I am super excited to tell you girls that I have an instagram account! I am quite late I know but I am still ecstatic about the idea of taking pictures. Vlogging is nice but taking pictures is just a way to make up for the lost moments on my vlogs don't you think?

Oh yeah please follow me! My instagram name is alicemate :)

Now let's get on with today's challenge shall we?

Day 29:

Your Favorite Song Right Now:

Ugh...can I have a top 3 instead? JUST KIDDING!

I mainly love this song simply for the rhythm. It has an old vibe to it that mostly I don't hear in the songs I listen to lately. Its old but has a certain freshness into it. And also it still has the IU feel into it.

I simply love IU. That's just it.

That's for today's challenge!

What's your Favorite Kpop song right now? Let me know on the comments section ok?

Much Love!

30 days Kpop challenge! Day 27

 Hey ladies!

I am back with a new post!

Let's get on with the challenge shall we?

Day 27:

A song that has a music video that you really like.

I like 2ne1's Space version of the song 'Fire'.
The main reason why I liked it is because of its futuristic feel. The set is quite simple but the camera work was undeniably good. As a MassComm graduate, I really had a fascination with videography and also the art of making great videos just by the angles and how the camera is places.

I like also the costumes that 2ne1 wore in the music video, its simple but it screams LOOK AT ME BITCHES! haha! I like it nonetheless because I know I won't be able to wear them EVEN if I slim down to Bom's body size.

That's it for today's challenge! I hope you girls like it.

For questions, suggestions or if you want to scream your butt off go right ahead. And if you are going to scream profanities at the comments section using anonymous - I won't post them! because what's the point of being a bitch online if you can't show yourself - just sayin'.

Much Love!

xx Alice

30 days Kpop Challenge! Day 26

Hello ladies!

I know that almost everyone is having a hard time coping up with the effect of Yolanda last weekend, Even my youtube friends that are based in the US are affected by it because they don't know what is the update with the areas that were affected by the said calamity.

In relations to that, I will be doing a make up sale soon on some of my make up products and 100% of the proceeds to the said sale will be donated to the victims of typhoon Yolanda. Our area may not be affected by the said typhoon, but I would like to help them too because I know how much damage it could take on the victims not just physically but also the emotional toll of losing a loved one and also the vulnerability of their situation.

I will post more details on this soon. But for now let's get started with today's Kpop challenge shall we?

Day 26:

A song that has a Music Video you can relate to

I can relate to Ailee's song 'Heaven'. The MV is about Ailee and another man in the video in which they spend time together, but at the end the guy she was with was actually invisible to her. It may seem that the guy was God or maybe a loved one that has departed.

The message of the song really touched my heart because I lost a loved one too about three years ago - My dad. My dad was someone that I could say was more than just what he is entitled too. He was my friend, my teacher, and the person that taught me how to cook rice.

I know, really lame that he was the one that taught me how to cook rice at 12 years old, but nonetheless he was the guy that showed me that the world may be cruel and unfair, but after all those there are still people that would love you and accept you for you who are.

When I listen to this song, it reminds me of him. Of how he taught me how to laugh and to think outside of my boundaries but still hold my principles

That's it for today's kpop challenge! I will be doing a back to back post. I hope you girls understand why I've been lacking on posts lately.

Much Love!

30 days Kpop Challenge: Day 25

Hey lovelies! How is your Thursday so far?

Work is not really stressful today but I hate the issues that I've been seeing lately. Don't you ever feel disgusted when someone fails to do their job and does not even take responsibility for it? Oh boy..I will just share my thoughts on this on my alter ego later but now let's just go with today's challenge shall we?

Day 25:

A Love Song

I would say it would be Big Bang's Haru Haru. The lyrics say so. Check out the video below.

The title means Day by Day in English but for some reason saying it in Korean sounds so much better don't you think?

Make sure to check back for more posts!

Much Love!

Photoescape Reviews: Maybelline The Falsies Volum Express Waterproof Mascara

Hello lovelies!

I have a confession to make: I detest false eye lashes. I really do!

One thing I don't like when I do make up tutorials is a need to apply false eye lashes or falsies. I know its kind of a requirement since it enhances the eyes a lot if you want it to be the focal point of your look, but I just find it really unnecessary. Call me lame but I just don't prefer applying it on myself.

But luckily, I was able to find a product that makes your lashes look like your wearing lashes! its Maybelline's The Falsies Volum' Express Waterproof Mascara.

30 days Kpop Challenge Day 24

Hello ladies! I am back with another challenge.

My brain activity is slowly depleting because of the myriad of back logs I have to do so please excuse if my use of words would be a little short than the usual.

Let's begin!

Day 24:
A Happy Song

This one is quite easy since I have a lot at mind. But I think the one that stands out the most is TVXQ's Balloon.

I like the concept the video and also the playfulness of the members of TVXQ before they disband.

That's it for today's post!

If you have any question just comment below k?

Much Love!

30 days kpop challenge: day 23

Hey ladies! sorry late update AGAIN...its just been pretty busy lately so I wasn't able to update this challenge.. I will be updating more this week since this is the last set of questions for the challenge.

I have failed miserably! ahhhhh!!!

Let's go to today's challenge shall we?

Day 23:
A Sad Song:

I don't really prefer sad songs since most sad Kpop song I know reminds me of a painful memory that sometimes I press next before the first part begins. But to this one I think the song Fiction by B2ST would suit best.

If you watch the music video, you would probably see why its a sad song for me.

That's it!

I will be posting more in a few minutes make sure to check back :D

Much Love!
