drinks that can calm you down :)

Are you Stressed?

Burned out?

Wanna scream but can't seem to know how?

I know how you feel, especially if you work in a very intense environment, for example, a call center.
With reports due, presentations needed to be passed, demanding boss and so many stress factors this article can help you lower that stress level you have with just choosing from this five concoctions.

1. A glass of milk.
milk contains tryptophan which converts to serotonin, a substance that basically boosts our moods. Milk also has calcium, magnesium and potassium to keep our blood pressure down. I suggest this if you have mood swings before or during your period girls.

2. Hot coco / Hot chocolate.
warm drinks actually makes us associate it with comfort and also relaxation. This is perfect once you get home after a stressful day at work.

3. Black tea.
Black tea actually lowers our stress hormone. So the next time you want to lower your stress level don't order coffee in your local coffee shop, order black tea instead. Oolong tea is another option.

4. Green tea.
Out of all the tea drinks out there green tea is actually well known to lower our stress levels. Packed with theanine, this substance sends a message to our brains to put it in a relaxation mode. Perfect for a weekend of relaxation at home.

5. A glass of cold H2o with a walk outside for fresh (or polluted) air.
This is actually one thing I do more often when I'm stressed. What the water does is it gets your body moving, while the activity invigorates you by stimulating endorphins thus de-stresses you. You can do this if you are on a break, instead of smoking your stress away. 15 minutes of walking with a tall glass of water can calm you down.

Here is my take on five drinks you'll definitely try to be more relaxed either at work, at home, or anywhere.

Quick fix to puffy eyes and also dark circles

This was originally posted in my account. Click here to see the site

I have friends who have trouble with their dark puffy circles under their eyes. I also have this problem but luckily the skin under my eyes just tends to be puffy in the morning.

For those girls who would like a fix on those problems I suggest investing on a good eye cream. When choosing eye cream the main ingredient you have to think is retinol which is another term for vitamin A. Retinol is an anti aging substance which can help you reduce the puffiness and also the dark pigment in our skin - more importantly in the skin around our eyes.

Another thing I can say that can reduce the puffiness would be to place 2 cold spoons under your eyes in the morning. Not only will this two spoons wake you up, it will make your skin firmer. Remember to only do this one when you wake up in the morning.

Well I think I have to go now... thanks so much for reading! and also if you have any questions just comment below ayt?

My Night (and Day) Face Routine

really sorry about the quality of the picture...

I have some friends who ask me about my regimen and I swear that it doesn't take me that much product and time to fix my self before I go out and also before I go to sleep.

I'll go first with my night routine ok? I actually have 2 categories for that - with make up and without make up.

With Make up Night Routine.
1. Use (2) Phase Make up Remover to remove make up, especially eye make up.
2. Wash my face with Pond's Clear Solutions.
3. Use Eskinol Astringent.
4. Apply Lavander clay mask (Every Tuesday, Thursday and Sundays)

off to sleep. Yes, I sleep with the mask on although its not recommended to do that, I just like to spook everyone when I wake up with the mask on lol! but aside from that the mask actually regenerates my skin every other day so I use it as often as I can. Here's my no make up night routine.

No Make Up Night Routine.

1. Use (2) Phase Make up Remover to remove make up, especially eye make up.
2. Wash my face with Pond's Clear Solutions.
3. Use Eskinol Astringent.
4. Apply night cream

There is not much difference actually, but most of the time I would prefer the no make up routine since its quite faster. I have to wait at least 5 mins so that the mask is not that wet when I lie in bed.

Up next:
Day routine.

1. Wash my face with Pond's Clear Solutions.
2. Use Eskinol Astringent.
3. Apply Myra E Sun Protect

My day face routine is much easier because I am always in a hurry...weird right?

Well that's my face regimen, I actually believe in the quote "less is more"
I believe less products you use is better for your skin so it can breathe.

see ya to the next post!

Sophie Paris 2 Phase Make up Remover Review

I am a make up addict but actually I rarely use make up (weird!), moreover I rarely use make up remover when I do my night routine.

But I thought why not try to use one when I have those days that I have to apply make up.

I bought the Sophie Paris (2) Phase Make up remover and here is my review about the product.

According to the website:

* With natural moisturizer to cleanse all make up including eyes and lips. Alcohol-free formula, no irritation, and suitable even for sensitive areas of the face.

What I liked about the product.

* Alcohol-Free
* doesn't sting
* no breakouts
* has a mild scent
*has jojoba oil which is good for the skin.
*removes even tough eye liner

What I don't like about it.
* It is not available in stores. It is exclusively distributed by Sophie Paris Philippines.

Using make up remover has actually made my night routine a bit easier when I wear make up on certain occasions. For 105 Php (2.40 USD) this is a good make up remover.
I would definitely recommend this for you girls! I <3>

This gets 4.5 stars out of 5

Much love!

**I am not affiliated with Sophie Paris, and nor was I paid to make this review. I bought the product with my own money.

Ideas for Prom

Prom season is around the corner and I have some ideas for those who would like to stand out in the crowd for just one night.

When I attended my prom then it was not as bad at it is. During my junior year my mom bought me a Cinderella-inspired dress. I remembered my dress was in lavender. I actually looked like Cinderella that night, as much as I like her, I don't want to look like her.

But when I had our senior prom, my look was actually really good. I had a red princess type dress, which actually looked fabulous on me! I got redemption in my pictures then :)

I'll be dividing my advises in 3 categories: Curvy, Slender, and Petite.

For Petite girls, I would suggest to go with a cocktail dress (see figure above) since it will emphasize your legs. Also wear beige colored heels so you'll give an illusion of longer legs. Another tip I have learned is when sporting a prom dress, always have proper posture to amplify the elegance of the dress.

For Slender girls, I suggest to go with long dresses.
Also try to choose the color of your dress in a champagne or taupe color,
so it will make your skin glow.

For Curvy girls, I would definitely advise you girls to wear a dress with only 1 color. Also its better to get an empire waisted dress since it will give you that illusion of an hour glass figure. Stay away from shiny fabric since it will emphasize those places that you don't want to be emphasized.

I hope these helped you with your prom dilemmas ladies!

till my next post!

SERIES: my favorite pinay youtubers / bloggers: pinkiericegurl

This is another one of my series! and today I will talk about one of my good friends in Youtube....

I saw her channel last year and was really amazed because her looks are really cool.

Ate Emafe is very friendly and really sweet. we are actually friends on Facebook! :)

The reason why I like her is because of her personality in her posts and her look in total. She is like the typical Filipina, she is morena, simple, and has that elegance that even without make up can make her shine.

As you girls can see I am not what a typical Filipina looks like. I actually look more of a foreigner but I speak tagalog as fluent as others does.

Ate Emafe likes to do looks and also has lots of haul videos.

Too bad we were unable to meet when she was here in Manila..

maybe next time :)

In total, Emafe is a great blogger and youtuber. She is very nice, sweet, and has a bit of a quirky side and is not afraid to show it to her viewers. She is very proud be a Filipina and also she mostly uses products that are available here in Manila!

I just love her... :)

Hope she reads this

much love ladies!

yoga....a way to healthy living

Since the start of 2011, I have been doing something in making my life healthier. I have started in eating better, thus the dreaded "half cup rice" rule was implemented for me at my house. That rule has actually given me some good results.

Another change I was doing is being on the move more. Typically, I would not walk from MRT to my office, but now I would take the FX when I think I am running late. Not only I regained my stamina, I can also save at least 100 pesos a week for not riding the FX to my office! :)

I have been thinking of giving this a shot when I saw my gay friend after a few months that we have not seen each other. He looks FAB! unfortunately I can't show you girls a picture of him.

He said Yoga made him healthier.

That suddenly gave me an idea...

I'm actually undecided whether or not I'll go through with this. I've actually heard this is really good for you since it will not only make your body leaner but also you will have a more peaceful mind.

Yoga actually requires you to be more of a positive thinker. I also heard Yoga can improve your concentration.

What do you think girls?

Should I try some yoga for a change?

leave me comment below and tell me what you think!

Hey girls! Happy valentines!

I have always celebrated my Valentines by myself but that doesn't mean that I have to feel bad about it right?

I can absolutely say that I am very much single and loving it!

Usually on Valentines, I would be either working or I am sick. I actually haven't experience having a date on valentines day. But of all the things I have gone through last year, I think this valentines day would just be an ordinary working day for me.

But for those that has a date or no date this Valentines, always remember that everyday is valentines day.

Like it says at the picture above

Love isn't quite complicated enough as it is.

I have always thought that Valentines is just for lovers, but as I grew up I learned that love is not just for 2 but for anyone that wants to experience it.

Have a great valentines day!

much love!

get to know me a lil better

Hello girlies! I'm back!

This blog is a little something for you girls (and guys (O.o) ) to get to know me better.

For starters, My name is Alice. I usually prefer to be called by Alex since whenever I introduce myself the immediate response is " in wonderland?" I know that joke already people, It has been told like 1500 time...

I just turned 22 last January, I am the youngest and I have 2 brothers, Alan (35) and Alvin (28). Living with 2 brothers would say that I am also one of the boys...well you could say that.
When I was younger I would be the pesky but trustful little sister. I actually know how to wrestle when I was younger. And what I mean by wrestle is the way WWE stars do.

I'm closer to my elder brother than the second one. I like him better because he is nicer to me...hehe...

I actually grew up in a pretty normal family. I have a mom, a dad, 2 brothers and a house full of women. My mom is actually a manager for professional dancers that will be performing in Japan.

My dad is an electrician. He can fix from televisions to computer monitors. I have a close relationship with my dad since he was the one who usually takes care of me when my mom was out for work. One of my fondest memories with my dad is when he would ask me to take an afternoon nap with him and afterwards we will go eat some delicious goto or arrozcaldo! or better yet he'll be cooking some champorado!

My dad's specialty is pancit, which is sooooo delicious. I never got tired of eating his version of pancit. :)

As you can see I'm quite full figured. I would honestly tell you that I hated my body because of its size but now I am doing something about it. I am actually trying to lose weight now. I am currently dieting and also doing some exercise when I have the time.

I took up Mass Communications in college. I took this course because I am curious with media ever since I was in high school.

Now I am working as an online English teacher. weird right? from media to education.

My job is not like the ones that you see the teacher everyday. I teach my students over the phone. Mostly my students are kids age 7 - 12 years old. I also have students that are older than I do, in which some of them don't even answer my calls haha! so weird! but its okay.

Writing is actually my first love. I like writing because it gives me the freedom to say what I want. I remember I started writing poetry in High school.

Well I think I have to stop right here.

If you do have any question just comment below and I'll answer that as soon as I can :)

much love!

THE SAD TRUTH :(...well not really

Here is the sad truth... I won't be able to get my hair colored this month :(

It's because I have to get my hair bleached first by a professional so that the color I want would really stand out. I heard that it takes hours for it and I have so much in my hands right now that I think I don't have the time to sit in a salon to get my hair done this month.

My affair with coffee

There was never a pay day that I don't go and buy my coffee at Starbucks. I have been a big fan of coffee ever since I was young. When I discovered a coffee shop and its ambiance I have always liked the thought of just sitting in a quiet corner in that coffee shop and just enjoy a book with a cup of coffee.

The first time I did that was when I was in High school. I would go to a not so popular coffee shop that was near my house. I would order a cup of their house blended iced coffee and enjoy reading a book I brought with me. Unfortunately that same coffee shop closed after three years due to bankruptcy. I was one of their regulars during Wednesday readings - one of their themed days. I cried when they told me that they will be closing the coffee shop for good. I loved that coffee shop. I actually can't remember the shop's name but I can still remember the way it looked and also the type of music they would play on a certain time of the day. I remember how they would greet me by my name and also the smell of coffee. I am an avid coffee drinker. May it be hot or cold I love it. But after my favorite coffee shop closed, I also stopped drinking coffee for a while. It seemed that I actually forgot its existence.

I started drinking tea after that. I would mostly drink green or oolong tea. I was not a fan of tea at first but I was able to appreciate it later on. The scent of a tea is not as pungent as of coffee. I would drink tea when I want to feel refreshed and also calmed down.
I came back to drinking coffee when I was invited by my friend to hang out at Starbucks. Starbucks here in the Philippines is one of those places that would be flowing with people that are a mixture of the young professionals, students, and couples enjoying each others company. Starbucks was a "cool" hang out place to go boy watching according to my friend. I was seventeen at that time so boy watching was a sport within my group. We would endlessly talk and check out guys that would pass our table. Sometimes we would be playing a game of rating which ones are hot and which ones are not. I mostly enjoy drinking frappuchino with my friend while talking in a crowded coffee shop. Up until my friend went to Europe for her studies. Most of my college life was hanging out with my friend's at their house and just chillin' or doing some projects. After my friend left, I also left our regular spot at Starbucks.

After graduating college, I immediately got a job at a Call center and wasn't able to enjoy most of my free time because I'm too tired. Until one day I saw a Starbucks in our office and bought a venti frap. I was in love again and made it a habit that I would be buying a venti of coffee every payday.

But after a year in the call center industry, I got burnt out and quit my job. I was also forced to quit my monthly habit of drinking Starbucks coffee. I had no money to buy a Starbucks venti frap. I actually went back in just drinking regular instant coffee. So weird right?

But when I got my last salary from my previous job I immediately went and bought me a venti mocca frappuchino. It was like heaven all over again. It was funny because I thought I had an orgasm when I had my first sip. I know its really weird that coffee made me whole again. I think its not the brand that I loved, but simply the coffee itself. I think this affair I have with coffee will never end.

much love!

Do I really want to be blond?

(sorry for the bland expression! I was sick when I took that picture :P )

I was always a brunette...well more likely a lighter version of a brunette. I actually had my hair colored in a lighter tone with matching highlight /lowlights courtesy of Bench Fix Salon about a year ago but alas the events that happened (i.e. resigned from work and other things) I wasn't able to go to the salon to have it maintained :(

This year I am thinking of doing a drastic change in my look. I am gonna go blond. Not the blond that Marilyn Monroe had but more of a golden blond look, more like CL of 2ne1.

(isn't her hair color just soooo cute? :) )

I got inspired going for this look when I saw CL's hair on the video 'Can't Nobody' and 'Go Away', I know television has it ways to influence people to do crazy stuff. haha!

My mom was originally not happy when I told her that I want a new look. I simply said "Mama I want to have blond hair." and she simply said a big flat NO. Of course being the little princess that I am, I was able to influence her to say yes in the end. *teehee*

It seems so childish but I still ask her for those stuff so she won't be shocked to see me with blond hair one day. It's also a sign of respect for her since she always liked my light brunette hair.

I basically want to change my look to also face a new life ahead of me. I am now a teacher. I know its weird to have a teacher with blond hair. The hair itself will not make you not focus on your lesson, believe me on that!

I want this look to also be a sign that I am ready for change. I always embraced change in my life and am willing to do the necessary adjustments for it.

I just have one thing that hinders me from being blond...THE PROCEDURE.

I read in this one article that you seriously have to think about it because it can affect your health - way to be optimistic dude!

So to my fellow bloggers and also readers, what do you think? does going blond gonna be good for me?
Post your comments below! any comment is welcome

much love!
